Con-way Truckload's Driver Apprenticeship Program Offers Paid On-the-Job Training for Veterans and Reservists
When Michael Osborn left the Air Force after nine and a half years, he had a big decision to make - choosing a new career. His military training as an aircraft armament systems technician didn't transfer to a lot of opportunities in the civilian world. Of the options, professional truck driving appealed to him the most, and of all the companies, Con-way Truckload seemed to be the best fit. While some potential employers offered special apprenticeships to veterans of the U.S. military, Osborn didn't think Con-way Truckload was one of them. "Other companies had apprenticeships for veterans, but they didn't have the reputation among drivers that Con-way Truckload did," he said.
